Down Main Street

This weekend was a busy one. I dug out my Down Main Street to work on it. It has been forever since I stitched on it and the progress I made in 3 days was amazing. If I do say so myself. I love this piece. I can't wait to finish it and hang it in my dining room. I did go over to my friend Jammi's house and painted chairs tonight. I managed to get black paint all over me but that is ok.

I said yesterday that I made myself a spreadsheet telling me the percentage I have on each of my projects. Here is what I have so far:

Number of total stitches: 699,572 - left in 13 projects

Percentage stitched: 12.7%

Not a lot..but I do have several LARGE pieces.

Harvest Sampler

I spent last week working on my Harvest Sampler piece. I finished the garden scene and that was my goal. Just have the checkerboard to go!!

Today, I spent cleaning my sewing room. I organized my patterns. I even put away all the thread I had bought when Hancocks ran the sale 20 for a $1.00. It took me 3 hours to finally get everything organized. I also kitted up my Inspiration piece that I am starting on the 1st of October with my friend Kim. I am very excited about this!!

Tonight was a Razorback game ....I got there with Mark and realized 5 minutes in the 1st quarter that I didn't want to be there. So I left! I went to Hobby Lobby, then to Barnes and Noble. It was nice evening. I went back and picked him up after the game. I don't know why...but I just wasn't in the mood for a game.

I am off to stitch on my Down Main Street Piece. It is a huge piece that I am very happy to say I think I have almost reached the halfway point.

Fire Dragon Model

YEA!!! The model I worked on all summer has now been released so I can show him off!!!
This is Fire Dragon. I stitched him for X's and Oh's cross stitch. I have to say he is beautiful!!!!! I usually don't go for dragons but I LOVED him!! I enjoyed stitching him. He does have full, half and quarter stitches. His coloring is amazing though.

Tea Cup finish

Here is one small finish I can show.. It is my teacup for the coloring contest (I think that is the contest) for my ILCS group. The contest was - take a teacup pattern and make it your own. So I found some 14 count sparkly fabric....used blueberry thread to stitch the cup...and a little lighter blue (can't remember the color) for the middle...then added a teapot for the button finish. I have several other finishes but they can't be shown yet.

BEST IN SHOW!!

Yes, you read it here. I won best in show at the fair!!!!! You can see the pretty purple ribbon on the frame...I have a strange smile because they didnt' put my name on the tag as the winning stitcher...they put someone elses!!!! So I have to call down there today to make sure I get the credit!!!! But I did win!!!

Here's the funny thing...I was calling it the 9th hole....but my husband and his best friend readily corrected me....it is acutally the 12th hole in Augusta!!!!! I guess you have to be a golfer!!!

I am pretty proud of myself to say the least!!!

Wish me Luck!

I entered my Mystic Stitch - Augusta the 9th hole in the county fair today!!! I am so nervous! This is the first time I have been brave enough to enter anything. The judging is to take place either Tuesday or Wednesday afternoon. Mom and I will be going Wednesday evening to see if I placed at all.

I had 2 finishes last night! I finished my model and my quaker design. Just got to finish the quaker piece. not sure how I am going to do it yet.

new project

I started a new project tonight. I needed a break from my model, so I decided to start my quaker project for my friend Kim. It is looking very pretty if I do say so myself. I am using Wild Ginger a hand dyed cotton by Ozark Sampler...the pattern is titled Love...that is all I am saying right now.

Actually I didn't stitch that much today. My hands have been hurting so I am giving them a little rest.

September-Month of Obligations

I decided this month will be the month of stitching obligation pieces. I have 7 pieces that I need to finish for other people:

Model - designer
Harvest Crops-Mrs. Hobsen
Angel project
Eeyore - Tiffany
Quaker design- kim
4th of July - Debra
Teacup- contest

I think that is it....There is alot...4 of them are small projects, so they should be easier to do...but I hope to make LOTS of progress on the 3 bigger projects.

I surprised Mark with his birthday gift today. I got him a mountain bike and he was SHOCKED to say the least!!!!

Labor Day

I had a great day today. I went shopping this morning and hit some great sales. At JC Penny's I went to buy some new tennis shoes for work. The pair I picked were Buy one pair, get one pair free...well..they only had one pair in my size so..I got them for 1/2 price!!! What a deal!!! At Hobby Lobby, I picked up a new cutter and rotary mat. Plus a foam mounting board to finish up my Gingerbread house.

I cleaned up my sewing/computer room..or tried too..got some threads put away but I need more floss bags...seems I have alot of floss that needs to be put away!!!! I was looking at all my projects that I have to stitch...right now I think I have 15 or more projects going...I really need to finish them!!!

Off to work on my model....I hope to finish it this week!!!

weekly update

Not much to tell!!! I have spent the week working on a model for a designer who needs it by Sept. 20th...so my fingers have just been stitching away! They are actually sore right now..so I am taking a break.

We had a pep ralley at school this week but I had a student who doesn't like them so I had to miss it. We went to the Season opening game of the Razorbacks!! The one thing I hate about going to games is climbing the hill from Harps to the stadium! That is one huge hill for an out of shape girl!!! Mark ordered us these great stadium seats so we don't have to sit on the hard benches!!! The Razorbacks won 46-26!! yea us!!
